"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
- Martin Luther King Jr.
Two decades of work in the mental health field has allowed me the privilege to witness people’s inner dragons and walk beside them on their journey to reclaim their power.
What I’ve learned from my professional and personal experience is maintaining mental and emotional well-being is hard work. It’s a daily practice that takes dedication, motivation, and the realisation that you hold all the answers you will ever need. It starts with acceptance and believing you are worthy of happiness, abundance, and love.
My burning passion for this work originated from my personal journey toward mental wellness.
I am no stranger to embracing the dragon. Growing up with a father who struggled with alcohol addiction and depression led to ongoing anxiety as a child and young adult while a traumatic birth experience resulted in postpartum depression and anxiety. These hardships are my greatest gift. They have allowed me to experience first-hand what it means to do the inner work and fight the stigma that still exists around mental health and addiction.
I strongly believe we all have the power as individuals and a community to drive change, raise awareness, educate ourselves, find solutions together and build the services we believe are needed in our communities.
These achievements can not be done alone. They are the result of passionate, dedicated individuals, families, organisations and communities bound by the belief that we deserve better and that we have the power to create better for ourselves and out communities.
When we collectively rise up together there is no limit to what we can accomplish.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
- Nelson Mandela
A bit more about me...
I am Australian residing, American born, energetic, creative, and multi-passionate.
When I'm not revolutionising maternal mental health, you can find me in nature, sipping a chai tea, rockin' out to my favourite tunes, and spending time in my own company or with family and friends.
I have a kick-ass hubby, and I am the proud mum to my beautiful, inquisitive boy who keeps me on my toes; always learning and remembering how to be a "kid at heart."
I love all things mental health and social justice.
I am constantly disrupting the status quo and challenging myself and those around me to find their passion, lean into vulnerability, and honour their true, authentic self.
While I strive to cultivate happiness and joy, I am aware that life also has its shadows and it's here that you'll find me holding space in the darkness while holding the torch for the light.
